Exports from the Middle East were worth US$868.9 billion in 2015, down -22.1% since 2011 when shipments for the Middle East aggregation totaled $1.115 trillion.
Year over year, the value of Mideast exports sank -40.5% from 2014 to 2015. Middle Eastern exports represent an estimated 5.3% of global exports from all countries.
Based on statistics from the International Monetary Fund’s World Economic Outlook Database, the total Gross Domestic Product for Middle Eastern countries amounted to roughly $7.875 trillion in 2015. GDP metrics for Syria and Palestine were not available from International Monetary Fund data and are therefore excluded.
Exports accounted for roughly 10% of the Middle East’s total economic output in 2015.
Given the Middle East’s population of about 411.6 million people, the total $868.9 billion in 2015 Middle Eastern exports translates to around $2,100 per person in the Mideast.

The only Mideast nation to boost the value of its exports was Turkey, up by 6.7% from 2011 to 2015.
Syria led the decliners with a -94.4% deterioration followed by Palestine (down -85%), Yemen (down -71.9%) and Iran (-58.5%).
